Interesting point in the article, as soon as I saw Tila's name, I said yuck! She is sooo I dunno.. yuck.
To answer your question, I can't stand public displays of affection as well, but however when you take it down a notch and think about women holding hands or folding arms while walking, it's endearing - I don't think I would label a sexual orientation to it. Now, if I saw two men about the same age arms folded together, I might label them.
However, I don't pay too much attention to it.
I do know that is is more socially acceptable to see womens affection rather than mens.
Personally I am not a fan of overly public displays of affection.. so it all would not settle with me in public, straight or gay. (a peck and hand holding is fine, just not making out)
I know that when women have kissed me in public, for the most part, they have been straight and trying to get a rise out of the watching men. the one and only time *I* kissed a woman passionately in public was when I felt totally moved by lust and just didn't care who was watching. it's rare for me to feel lust for a woman, only the once that I remember. I don't think I'm qualified to lodge an opinion of the bi-issue, but I tend to fall more on the all-straight or all-gay side.

Overall, I think genuine bisexuality is just as common in men as it is in women. It only appears there are more bi women because of the double standard that young people have. The porn industry has contributed to the double standard as it mainstreams female bisexuality but marginalizes male bisexuality.
