Brian so funny, I too have been putting various netbooks in various online carts but just unable to get myself to pull the trigger. My latest issue is weather to go with the tiny ssd drives or the way way way bigger old spin hds.

Ah, so you got a netbook! Wonderful. As you may know, I got a new Macbook 13" White just yesterday. I really, really, really came so close to getting a netbook - almost hitting the "submit" button a few days ago.

About that heat on the couch with your Macbook. I have an Incase slip cover for mine over the past two years. I always put the Macbook on the case then put both on my lap - no heat!

Hey Adolfo. That's the same laptop I have but with the SSD. There are about 6 different models of the same acer aspire one. Personally I"m not on the SSD bandwagon because of size and performance. Apparently the recommendation is to use non-journalling file systems when on SSD to minimize r/w access.

I need to correct myself. My model has a 160 gb hd not 120. I'd say if getting the aspire one the 6 battery model is the one to get. the weakness on mine is battery life. depending on the OS it sits around 2 hours.

I was a bit disappointed to see my model only had a .3 megapixel webcam. The sales person (!) said it was 1.3. oh well....

the 6 cell model does have the 1.3 if memory serves. I'll be blogging more about the experiences on the device so stay tuned.

Sean what do u think of this one? http://is.gd/kZIc I also notice you have a gigantic 120gb hd with yours, I assume it's not ssd as most others are 8gb-16gb ssd drives, do you know the pros and cons of ur decision in that respect? Hows the webcam/mic quality for things like seesmic/tokbox/skype/etc? which of the os's you installed performs best on this machine?

Thanks for the write up, i'm keeping track on how far u push that little machine. Do you know of anyone that has but mac osx on it yet? I've been following the Dell Mini forums but not the Acer community.
